apparently the thrust of the whole episode is all about how new york city … has been overrun by banks. and how those banks are hiring, with jobs that have “great pay and good benefits.” lol?

A followup to this: “There were two things in abundance at Edgefest on Saturday, September 27: hot-looking women and wild-looking hairstyles. We’ve got pictures of both.” Seriously, guys? Seriously?? Why not just call your next pageview-inflation project “CHICKS WHO LIKE TO FUCK (plus a song or two).”

for the few of you who care, i’m rooting for the rays now. there are a few reasons, but the main one is that when i started at mlb.com in 2003, i was assigned to their site because i was green as far as sports-editing experience went. (did you know that two pitchers who were in their ‘03 starting rotation have died in the past year? joe kennedy passed away last year, geremi gonzalez in...

I missed the debates because the bar I was at was only showing sports. (Oh Mets, you kill me.) On the bright side, I finally tried Cabo Wabo tequila! It has a crazy strong flavor bouquet. Now I’m in a hotel room that looks like it should be used only for plotting crimes. It does havs a microwave, which I guess is something. Also I’m watching The Golden Girls. RIP Estelle :(

trainwrecks: natface: Argh authors. There is a space after an m-dash. For example: Bob the Builder— often a spokesperson for the United Nations— commented on the Rice for Oil scandal this morning. Authors of what? Different style manuals treat the em dash/spaces differently. For instance, AP (which your example should probably be in) has a space on BOTH sides of the em dash, Chicago has NO...

Another way that Saturday Night Live is “restoring the balance”: Any skits about John McCain’s truth-stretching ads are “tempered” by long, unfunny, bad-stereotype-filled* sketches about the reporters of the New York Times and their utter inability to grok Alaska. Not to say this for the 800,000th time, but THIS PHENOMENON IS NOT NEW. I know that Tumblr is exciting and delicate-flowerlike and special, but jeez, do a little research and you’ll find that practices like this have been going on as long as Geocities accounts were available to people using throwaway Yahoo! e-mail addresses.
