after getting wind of this weekend’s incident in which rihanna opened the floodgates for her 14 million-plus twitter followers to go after someone who criticized her decision to work with chris brown—namely by calling her interrogator fat and ugly and subsequently letting her followers know that she was being ‘cyberbullied’ by said unattractive person—i became pretty comfortable in calling her current public persona that of ‘cartman on maury’ taken to the ugliest extreme. yeah, calling out someone via @-reply is probably not the smartest move, but surely a pop star has better things to worry about.
these latest antics are probably an extension of her ‘i don’t want to be a role model’ act, so can the world at large please stop expecting her to be one now so that she cuts this shit out? thanks.
(also the way that pop fans mobilize around hatred on the internet is so depressing. it’s music! it’s supposed to be fun! i know it’s the way of the game but ugh, it’s just the worst.)
