  5. "For his 40th Anniversary John is re-issuing his favourite and favorite styles from each decade, and for the 90s he brings you the hugely sought after Munsters. Made famous first by Lady Miss Kier who wore the iconic platforms on the cover of Deee-lite's debut album World Clique, then by Madonna who wore the sexy 4" Louis IV heel in Truth or Dare, the Munsters have long become the symbol of the '90s House/Club underground DJ scene. Reintroduced with soft suedes, stamped embossed glossy leathers, tunite soles and brested heels, and including the silver 40th Anniversary buckle, the Munsters are an exact re-issue of the original groovy classic. A limited edition produced in small numbers, make sure you grab the Munsters while you can!" →

  8. chenrazee asked: I stumbled across your article while doing an internet search for Meryn's name. It was fun reading about her from before I knew her. :)

Anyway, she has a blog now, at http://tinsenpup.blogspot.com/ , so go check it out if you'd like to catch up with her again. Cheers! - Kevin

Hi Kevin. This is the best news ever; I never put personal posts on my front page but you have zero contact info / ask not-enabled so I’m answering this for the benefit of me, and my email is my first name dot my last name at gmail.com. So yes, please email me there, because the blogspot in question hasn’t been updated in forever (and neither has the Twitter of the same name) and I am SO CURIOUS w/r/t who you are, how Meryn is doing at this moment, etc.

But actually, everyone else? You should know the story, which is that a few months ago I wrote a post about a song that was also about my pen pal from my high school years, the woman who was 15 when I was and who lived in Australia and who sent me Vegemite and who caused me to learn about the intricacies of international long distance and also about the Violent Femmes and a song about New York that sampled Bill Beutel (yes!!) and Ratcat and a bunch of other awesome bands — and I lost touch with her during my early college years, because, you know, I’m a terrible correspondent, as too many of the people who are still somehow friends with me can attest. But someone who knows her found me because of that post. And so, yes. The Internet: It can still be amazing at times! Also I never ate the Vegemite.
